Teachers

Roxanne's hopes to become renowned for its creative class selection. Do you have a great class you would like to teach at the store?

Please email Ranell Hansen, Class Coordinator at

Mavis Hansen
Mavis has been crocheting for over 25 years. She loves to crochet. She is a prolific hat and scarf maker and her work can be seen for sale at craft fairs and boutiques around town. She also does paper crafts and collage. When she is not crocheting or crafting, she is doing agility or fly ball with her two Jack Russell terriers, Jupiter and Kukulele or playing the ukulele both in class and at Senior Communities.
Beverly Ranger
Bev recalls, "Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved to sew and craft. I got this desire from my grandmother while visiting summers on the family farm in Texas". These experiences led her to become a Home Economics Teacher. She taught for 39 years at Carpin-teria High School, teaching clothing, foods, child development, interior design, arts and crafts and finally culinary arts. She is married with two sons and a avid basketball fan. She also, as a hobby, made and sold craft items at various boutiques and sales for the holidays over a period of 18 years. Beverly looks forward to sharing and creating with others.
Ranell Hansen
Ranell has been teaching sewing and quilting for over 30 years. She is an award-winning quilter and has a longarm machine quilting business. She works in all sorts of media, but her favorite is fabric. Her classes vary from beginning quilting to art quilts with a liberal number of fabric crafts thrown in. She is also working as class coordinator for Roxanne's, A Wish and a Dream.

Susan Jorgenson
Susan has been an instructor at SBCC continuing education for 30 years. At present, she is the Activities Director for a Senior Day Care Center. She has been an avid crocheter for the past 35 years and a knitter for the past 10 years. She loves all forms of needlecraft.

Lynda Callos
Lynda has been a teacher at SBCC Adult Education for over 25 years offering needlepoint, stitchery, quilting, sewing and crafts with an emphasis on simple techniques and shortcuts to create a professional looking result. She plans to teach Make-It and Take-It classes where the students will go home with a completed project. She will be teaching Easy Fabric Pumpkins in October. Look for other fun projects from this creative gal.

Debbie Sanders
Little did her Aunt Eva know what a gift she was giving her when she taught Debbie to knit when she was 8 years old. She's 61 now and has been knitting ever since. Under the wing of the Swiss-born knitting guru, Vera Feldman, Debbie learned to write and chart knitting patterns. She has taught knitting classes and worked in knitting shops since 1986. Debbie says, "I look forward to helping you with your knitting and crochet projects at Roxanne's. We are all going to have a lot of fun creating our wishes and dreams and getting to know each other."
